L&D Function: what really matters
The aim of L&D in organization is to create a competitive organization. Two focus areas of L&D: 1) Individual Ability – Talent, Work Force, People 2) Organization Capability – Culture, Leadership
For successful L&D function, the following four pillars play critical role 1) Vision/ Change mindset 2) People 3) Process 4) Technology
What’s the true test of effective L&D function in an organization? Not the number of manhours of training, Training Budget, coaching sessions, webinars, stretch assignments etc.. The true test is whether the organization has become a truly Learning organization which can use innovation and agility as competitive edge. Recently Simon Sinek in his talk about 'Covid19 as an Opportunity' refers to one real life example of how a pizza-making company saw opportunity in Covid lockdown time when pizza biz was down and started a new product offering of face shield using their ovens to mould plastic sheets. What makes an organization so open to see opportunity and agile enough to employ innovation to bring out a new product?
How should L&D function to create and flourish such culture.
